Tales of Teyvat, a Genshin Lore Podcast

Episode 9: Adeptus Yanfei

SEASON ONE

Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.

Below are some resources surrounding Adeptus Yanfei that may be helpful to better understanding this week’s lore:

Yanfei, a character from Genshin Impact, excitedly waits for battle holding her weapon in one hand with a smile on her face. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

The Fantastic Compass, an ancient artifact from Genshin Impact. This item is gold with blue lettering that glows. In the center, there is a gold and blue orb that looks like a planet. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

During Interlude Chapter: Act II – Perilous Trail, Yanfei, the Traveler and some other folks find the Fantastic Compass and need to unlock its mystery in order to leave the depths of The Chasm.

A golden or bronze statue of a Xiechi. The face seems lion like with more of a dragon body, with scales on the arms. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Yanfei’s Adepti father is said to be in the form of a Xiechi. A Xiechi is a mythical ancient creature of Chinese origins that resembles an ox or a goat. It is, fittingly, known as a symbol of justice.

Madam Ping, a character from Genshin Impact, stands idle with her hands behind her back looking off to the side. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Madame Ping is Yanfei’s caretaker after her parents leave on an adventure. She’s an Adeptus that invented the Serenitea Pot and gives the Traveler one of their own once they complete the Liyue Archon storyline.

During this weeks podcast you heard us refer to Yanfei as the girl with the ‘boots with the fur’. Coined by our dear friend Vanessa (not to be confused with Genshin’s Venessa), its in reference to the Flo Rida song “Low” and Yanfei’s furry boots. Check out the TikTok Tif made for a sample of the song or use the link below to watch the music video.
