Tales of Teyvat, a Genshin Lore Podcast

Episode 15: Sumeru So Far

SEASON ONE

Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.

Below are some resources surrounding what we discussed about Sumeru that may be helpful to better understand this week’s lore:

The first glimpse a player gets of Sumeru City in Genshin Impact. From far away we can see a city built into a huge and wonderful tree. To the left there is a body of water that sets the scene for a dock. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

We got to see a few glimpses of the new region prior to its August 2022 release in the form of some short videos. Linked is a little reminder of what we saw before Paimon stopped yelling at us for getting too close to the edge of the map.

Nahida, an archon in Genshin IMpact, smiles happily at the camera. She holds one finger up like she has a thought. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Nahida’s banner trailer really let us know that her story wasn’t going to be one of sunshine & daisies, but instead showed us a sinister look and confusion into the itty-bitty archon.

Lumine, from Genshin Impact, stands looking off to the left. We can see an Akasha Terminal on her ear, a green, heart like device. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

The Akasha System & Terminal were developed by Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. She used her Gnosis to create a system where information could transfer back and forth. Traveler and Paimon are given their own when they first enter Sumeru City.

Isak, a character from Genshin Impact, dressed up as Nahida, the dendro archon. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

How can you not love a kid in drag? Little Isak dressed up as Nahida to help us successfully complete our plans to save Lesser Lord Kusanali. And we think he looks adorable!

An NPC, Tavernier, from Genshin Impact. They have full bangs, blonde hair that just misses their shoulders, a blue turtle neck, brown sweater and some necklaces. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Theres an NPC in Port Ormos that bears a striking resemblance to Feens. You can run into Tavernier in one of the inlets that we checked into during the Fabulous Fungus Frenzy event. Have you seen her? Tag us in your photos on Instagram or Twitter if you have!

A Sumeru NPC, from Genshin Impact, wearing a yellow shirt, green vest, and sunglasses next to Steve Harrington from Stranger Things. Steve wears a grey jacket, backpack and sunglasses. Both characters have long brown hair that is well styled. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Speaking of NPCs, have you noticed the uncanny resemblance of the NPC in sunglasses to Steve from Stranger Things? Tif is not a fan of this out-of-place guy.

Thanks to Twitter user @ScaraCounting for posting the meme.

Hey kid, you know who might have answers for you? The person no one has seen in 500 years. That shouldn’t be a problem, right? RIGHT?!?!

Apropos for Traveler these days.
