Tales of Teyvat, a Genshin Lore Podcast

Episode 23: The Three Moon Princesses

SEASON TWO

Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.

Below are some resources surrounding what we discussed about The Three Moon Princesses that may be helpful to better understand this week’s lore:

The book, Bamboo Forest Book Series, from Genshin Impact. It is blue with green bamboo and a faded crescent moon on it. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Moonlit Bamboo Forest is a 4 volume book collection found around Liyue and it holds the most information about the Moon Princesses (referred to as the Moon Sisters in the story). You can get the volumes from Granny in Qingce Village, the bookhouse in Liyue Harbor, and at Wangshu Inn.

The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies book from Genshin Impact. It is white with a blue shield shape. On the shield is a white rose. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies is the other book collection we mention in the episode. This story requires a bit more theorizing to associate it to the story, but many people feel it’s very important. You receive volume 1 after completing the Stolen Book quest with Lisa. The other volumes are not available in game (but you can find them online).

Dainsleif, a character from Genshin Impact. It is a close up of his face where he looks disappointed. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

We make a few references to the Caribert archon quest that starts out with an encounter with Kaeya & Dainsleif in Sumeru. Since this archon quest is fairly new we don’t delve deep, but you can watch the full quest posted by YouTube user @GamingWithAbyss.

The top shows a Statue of the Omnipresent God, which is grey and towers over small homes. The bottom shows the Welkin Moon illustration, which is of a small mage with a blue dress and cape, with white hair, and a wand. There is a moon behind them. These are both from Genshin Impact. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Surrounding the stories of the Moon Sister and the Pale Princess, the similarities of the Statue of the Omnipresent God and the Welkin Moon illustration have been compared and considered to maybe the same entity. What do you think? Let us know on Twitter.

On the left is a damaged Seelie court, a grey statue that looks like it is made to hold a globe. It is broken and jagged, unable to hold anything. On the right is a repaired Seelie Court holding a glowing green/blue ball of light. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

As Feens mentioned, there are both damaged & repaired Seelie Courts in Teyvat. While many in the regions we were first introduced to have damaged courts, many in Sumeru are repaired.

A screenshot of the blue sky in Genshin Impact. It shows the stars laid out in a circle formation, creating what the hosts called a butthole. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Bee introduced us to the Sky Butthole this episode. Be sure to look up and see if you can find the Sky Butthole for yourself.

We can see the full moon rise & set all over Teyvat, but for a great view of it passing by Celestia, go to the high points in Mondstadt.

Seelie by Lyrids. On the right there is a Seelie, a whsipy teal creature in Genshin. On the left is a yellow chibi character that wears an outfit that resembles the Seelie, including a tail, furry neck piece, and hair.

There are so many talented & creative people in the Genshin community, and we’d like to spread some love to a wonderful artist – Lyrids (JoyFairyTail). The whimsical look of the human Seelie is adorable! Keeping the traditional blue/green colors make them so sweet and familiar.
