Tales of Teyvat, a Genshin Lore Podcast

Tales of Teyvat X The Shade Chamber Fontaine AQ Collab

SEASON THREE

Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.

Below are some resources surrounding what we discussed about the Tales of Teyvat X The Shade Chamber Fontaine AQ Collab that may be helpful to better understand this week’s lore & shenanigans:

Hilichurl icons that represent the hosts of the Shade Chamber podcast. Top left: Beefy (purple). Top right: Wander (blue). Bottom left: Break (green). Bottom left: Jeur (pink). At the bottom there is a red icon that represents Rad behind jail cell bars. Finally, in the middle of the square is the Shade Chamber's logo. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Meet the Churlmen of the Board from The Shade Chamber! Beefy, Wander, Break, and Jeur joined the Tales of Teyvat crew to discuss all things Fontaine!

Unfortunately, Rad was locked away in the Fortress of Meropide and couldn’t join us.

Make sure to check out The Shade Chamber!

A collage of the two art pieces done for the Fontaine archon quests. The top shows Aether battling with Furina in a golden tone. The bottom shows Aether floating in a sea of other Fontaine characters. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

We recently had our Fontaine So Far episode that has a lot of resources available, but wanted to include some important tidbits over here as well. Especially the videos!

Watch on YouTube: Version 4.0 “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason”

Watch on YouTube: Version 4.1 “To the Stars Shining in the Depths”

Furina, from Genshin Impact, takes a bow on top of a building in Fontaine. Behind her, Neuvilette looking over his shoulder with a flood under him. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

The most recent archon quest had some doozies. It had death, deceit, dreams, and a demon narwhal. What more could you ask for? A fairytale ending, we got that too. Sort of.

Watch on YouTube: Version 4.2 “Masquerade of the Guilty”

Lumine, from Genshin Impact, inside of a clock with spiral eyes. On top, it says "Groundhog Day" in reference to the movie. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

The Sumeru Archon quest led the traveler to believe we’re living the same day over, and over, and over again. Luckily, it was just Nilou’s dream we were stuck in. Sometimes,  we wish it had just been Groundhog’s Day, our heads hurt thinking about dreamception!

Top: Beidou (left) and Ningguang (right), from Genshin Impact are chatting while Ningguang smokes. A chess set is imposed in front of them. Bottom: Clorinde (left) and Navia (right) walk toward the camera looking off screen. There is a tea cup imposed in between them. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

In previous episodes, we’ve mentioned Beidou and Ningguang using chess as a euphemism for something… spicier. We think Clorinde and Navia have the same euphemism, but with tea!

Sigewinne, from Genshin Impact, stands looking at the camera with a smile. Next to her is a tray of purple tentacles and some veggies. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

We wouldn’t have expected this monstrosity of a dish to be such a sweet gift from our cute Sigewinne. We’ll have to forgive her for giving us quite the scare.

Top: A screenshot of Poisson, in Genshin Impact, before it was flooded. Bottom: A screenshot of Poisson after the floods. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

We visit the underground town of Poisson many times with Navia during the earlier Archon Quests. Unfortunately, Poisson is flooded by water tainted by the Primordial Sea. The damage done to Poisson is still seen after finishing the 4.2 Archon Quest.

Chlorinde, from Genshin Impact, stands with her arms crossed in front of her chest. It has a circle that zooms in to show a button that looks like it is going to pop. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

There are few things stronger in this world than the buttons on Chlorinde’s shirt: Diamonds, Feeny’s love for Albedo, and Titanium, but these buttons top them all!

A GIF of Freminet, from Genshin Impact, as he starts to drown and loose consciousness. He lifts his arm up and it switches to his eyes closing slowly. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

While we’re serving our fake sentence in the Fortress of Meropide, Freminet dives into unknown water trying to trace Childe’s steps. Freminet is unknowingly exposed to Primordial Sea water, but is saved by none other than Clorinde and her button!

Ayaka's feet, from Genshin Impact, in water up until her ankles. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Ayaka may have danced beautifully for us during our date with her in Inazuma, but did she really need to get her socks wet? She could’ve done her beautiful dance barefoot in the water, or on land!

Fleuve Cendre, an underground and dark city in Genshin Impact's Fontaine. It is dark, with bronze buildings and a blue light glowing in. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Spina di Rosula may have their main headquarters in Poisson, but they also have control over a small location underneath the Court of Fontaine: Fleuve Cendre. The traveler is even invited by Navia to stay in a hotel located there when we need to freshen up.

Momoyo, from Genshin Impact, wears a purple kimono, black hair with bangs, and an eye patch. She holds one hand in front of her face. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Momoyo always seems to come up, especially when we’re talking about the House of Hearth. Could her understanding of the Knave have been a canonical error? Or was it lazy writing?

Arlecchino, from Genshin Impact, stands with her back to the camera. Paimon stands on the other side of her, looking at her. The emphasis of the photo is Arlecchino's ponytail, which is long and goes down her back. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

It seems that Hoyo still has yet to abandon their obsession with rat-tails! Arlecchino’s ponytail is reminiscent of Zhongli’s rat-tail, and we all would like to chop it off!

A giant crane drops into the water, with a sailor sitting on it pulling other people onto it. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

At the end of 4.1, Wriothesley foreshadows that the flood will occur when he shows us the massive ship he’s been secretly developing. We get to see this ship, and it’s ridiculous claws, in action at the end of 4.2.

Apep, a dragon from Genshin Impact, is seen only as a shadow in a sandstorm. Its eyes are glowing gold. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Apep is the first of the Seven Sovereigns we encounter in game. It’s a shame Neuvillette didn’t get his good looks. 😬

He’s large and in-charge and looks like a centipede. Ick.

A gnosis, from Genshin Impact, looks like a chess piece with gold and a blue glow next to a wooden cutting board covered in Gnocchi. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

By accident, we refer to the Gnosis as Gnocchi. Now, if these all powerful trinkets were the all powerful potato dumplings, we don’t think Neuvillette would’ve given it away that easily.

Ancient greek statues of Zeus, Prometheus, and Hercules (in that order). There is a Kaeya emote hiding Zeus' private part. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

The myth of Prometheus can be a great parallel to Forcalors’ and the late Egeria’s goal to bring justice to both the oceanids and to the people of Fontaine.

On the left is Furina, from Genshin Impact, in her "archon" fit, which has white shorts and vest. On the right is non-archon Furina, with black shorts and vest. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Furina’s change in appearance is part of her transition from her torment to her freedom. Her underlying colors switch and she no longer forces herself to smile for the “crowd.”

Focalors, the Hydro Archon in Genshin Impact, looks up at the sky, holding her hands in front of her. Her long hair flows behind her as she stands on a wooden floor. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

The true Hydro Archon, Focalors, had herself locked away in the Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale. Neuvilette was happy and sad to meet her, and watch her perish, all within five minutes.

Skrik, from Genshin Impact, stands with her arms crossed staring at the camera apparently bored. Behind her, the sky is blue with purple smog. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Skirk may be a new character to some, but die hard Childe mains know she trained Childe after he fell into the Abyss. We now know she kept the All-Devouring Narwal as a pet and answers to her master, the Fowl.

A sewer drain. In the sewer is Skirk, from Genshin Impact, looking out bored. In front of the sewer drain is a red balloon. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

We mention that Skirk is lurking in the sewer of Fontaine trying to call to Childe. A little too similar to a certain clown that killed Georgie and some other kids in Derry… we all float in Fontaine.

A GIF of a blue and white bird from Fontaine in Genshin Impact. Is is slowly tip toeing over to poke a Hilichurl, that is asleep, with its toe. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

East of the Central Laboratory Ruins, you can run across a seagull tapping & laughing a dead (well, sleeping) hilichurl on the shore line.

Tif apologies to the churlmen for saying their friend was dead.

Philly was found guilty…
