Episode 6: The Yakshas

In the story Teaser, “Yakshas: The Guardian Adepti” we get a look into the history of the Yakshas and what led to Xiao being the only one left alive during current game play.

In this video, we are able to see the final cutscene of The Chasm Quest involving Xiao and the others. This shows us Xiao’s sacrifice, and willingness to help people. It also shows his powers, and how he is ready to finally feel like the good guy.

In Xiao’s Story Quest, we learn more about the younger members of the Yakshas through the story of Pervases. This story also gives us some perspective into what Xiao is doing in the world and his thoughts on his lost friends.

Yaksha masks are very similar to Nuo Opera Masks. Nuo Opera is a popular folk opera in China, which Liyue is based on. This style of opera is dedicated to evils and demons. This is similar to how the Yakshas signed a contract with Morax to destroy evil beings and monsters.

In the Story Teaser “Only Memories Remain” we get to see Bosacius’ last hours in the depths of The Chasm. This story shows us the answers to all of Xiao’s questions that lead him to enter the chasm during The Chasm Archon quest.

During The Chasm story quest with Xiao, we find him injured. His wounds look like The Abyss when closely inspected. During this week’s episode, one of our hosts suggests this imagery could be representative of his Karmic Debt seeping out of his wounds.
