Diluc’s story starts back in the manga set 6-12 months before the start of the story in game. It centers around the Diluc, Kaeya, and Collei stories. You can read the manga online.
Kaeya sneaks Diluc’s vision back to him inside a vase that is a replacement for one Diluc breaks during the manga. You can see the out-of-place looking vase in the Dawn Winery.
We mention Vile will give you some good gossip if you run into her in Mondstadt. There are two places she walks around, over by the archon statue in front of the church and in front of the Knights of Favonious.
Diluc left a heartwarming message on the bulletin board reminiscing of of the past.
