Tales of Teyvat, a Genshin Lore Podcast

Episode 25: Mona Megistus the Astrologist

SEASON TWO

Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.

Below are some resources surrounding what we discussed about Mona Megistus the Astrologist that may be helpful to better understand this week’s lore:

Mona, from Genshin Impact, has her arm up over her had summoning a ball of water. Around her the stars glimmer. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Whether you met Mona early in the game during a special event or not until you ran across her in Liyue, a refresher is always a nice place to start.

Mona, Fischl, Paimon, and Lumine, from Genshin Impact, all stand with their backs to the reader staring at a floating rock with blue crystals at the bottom. They are at a beach. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

If you’re like us, you did not get to see the Unreconciled Stars Event in real-time. Thanks to @CatWithBlueHat, you can watch the full story linked below. You can see for yourself why the ‘stars are a lie’.

Mona, from Genshin Impact, stands with her back to the reader looking at a beautiful and large blue and gold ornament in the middle of a room. Gold rays shine off of the item. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

While we learn a lot about our friends in the Summertime Odyssey Event we don’t get a whole lot of backstory on Mona. We do however get a better understanding of the weight she carries with telling others their destinies, even when they aren’t the kindest result.

A tea table is set for seven people in a grassy meadow and under a pink umbrella at sunset. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

In the quest ‘Joy Above the Clouds’ during the Windblume Event, we listen to a voice from a beautiful lantern that appears to be Alice. At times she sounds like Mona’s master, Barbeloth, but we’re unsure if its Alice imitating the others in the Hexenzirkel or if they are also tuned in. Mona isn’t too keen on hearing from the Old Hag.

Bruno, from Disney's "Encanto". He stands, shocked looking off camera. He wears a green pancho and has long brown and curly hair. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

You heard us reference Bruno from ‘Encanto’ a few times during the episode. Much like Mona, he’s the barer of bad news. And even though its neither of their fault, they both get the brunt of anger when their premonitions are true.

A man wearing a tie, khakis, and a striped tie looks crazily at the camera. He leans one hand against a wall covered in papers and red lines, his other hand holds a pen and points toward the reader. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

All these theories and possible conspiracies have our brains going a thousand directions. Feens & Tif reference feeling like Charlie from the “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” meme.

And now that she mentioned it, this really is the ToT team weekly with our thoughts & theories.

Kazuha, from Genshin Impact, stands with his hand on his shoulder wearing a black bucket hat with the podcast logo on it. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Something cracking up Feens this week is the idea of Kazuha stealing hats across Teyvat. You can see the original work of Kazuha’s kleptomania by visiting Xinzoruo’s Twitter.

There are so many talented & creative people in the Genshin community, and we’d like to spread some love to a wonderful artist – Mercury (@mercury_jc). We love this alternate, royal look for Mona. It gives her a regal, princess look while not losing her signature purples and stars.
