Tales of Teyvat, a Genshin Lore Podcast

Episode 43: Venti the Bard

SEASON THREE

Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.

Below are some resources surrounding what we discussed about Venti the Bard that may be helpful to better understand this week’s lore:

Venti from Genshin Impact showing his hand with anemo energy resonating behind him. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

If you’re interested in re-watching the Venti story quest in its entirety, you can thanks to Youtuber Gaming with Abyss.

Venti's dead friend when he was alive and fighting in a ward in a 2D drawing from Genshin Impact. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

The story of Venti as a wisp and befriending this bard kid that just wanted to see the sunshine was so sweet. Plus the cutscene is as gorgeous as always.

Venti from Genshin Impact as a wisp with two of his friends from old Mondstadt who also fought alongside him. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

We mention the people who were present during Decarabian’s downfall, one being a red-haired knight that surely looks like a relative of Diluc. You can also see Venti’s cute little chubby wisp form in the cutscene.

Venti from Genshin Impact standing in front of a stand smiling with his hand on his hip. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

To help hide his identity even more in Mondstadt, Venti wears a fake Anemo vision. You’d think being the archon he could have gotten himself a real one. At least then he wouldn’t have potentially been found out during the first event like Feens mentions.

Six-Fingered Jose from Genshin Impact playing the lyre in Angel's Share. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

If you’ve been to Angel’s Share, you’ve most likely tried to leave and accidentally clicked on Six-Fingered Jose at the door. If you joined our anniversary stream, you’d also know the disappointment Tif had once Al told her he doesn’t have six fingers. Why, Jose? WHY?!?!

Fake Stanley from Genshin Impact staring at us menicingly, while admitting the really Stanley died. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

A part of Venti’s story also tells us about Fake Stanley and what happened to the Real Stanley in Mare Jivari. Would you risk going to a windless land if you also believed your soul could not go to the afterlife if there was no wind to carry you?

At least Real Stanley got some peace in the end. And Fake Stanley can stop punishing himself.

Ei, Nahida, Zhongli, and Venti from Genshin Impact in a 2D rendition sitting around a table enjoying a drink together. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

We mentioned the archon tea party shown during this year’s Lantern Rite. If you didn’t get a chance to see the extra cutscene released, we’ve linked it below.

Zhongli from Genshin Impact sitting a table with his back to Xiao and Hu Tao. He looks contemplative. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

Speaking of Lantern Rite, Feens talked about the awkwardness of Hu-Tao’s dinner, where everyone basically tried to not out themselves.

Stormterror's Lair in Genshin Impact in game compared to a drawing from a cutscene of how it used to look before it was abandoned. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

Back in the time of Decarabian’s rule, Mondstadt – now known as Old Mondstadt – was over in the area we know as Stormterror’s Lair. Which is why he was also called the Lord of the Tower.

The Amos' Bow from Genshin Impact, a beautiful purple bow that has details that make it look like it has wings and a unicorn horn. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

Amos’ Bow was once wielded by Decarabian’s lover-turned-enemy of the same name. She used this bow to fight Decarabian but was ultimately slain by her lover. Bee mentions an elf described in the Freedom Sworn weapon and questions who in the party this may have been. It’s quite possibly Amos who was the elf! Although we see her image in Venti’s story, her ears are hidden!

Barbatos, from the Ars Goetia, being shown with a gun facing the ground and trumped blaring in his ears. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

As we know by now, all archons have approximately 3500 names. Okay, maybe not, but they do all have an archon name derived from the Ars Goetia. Venti’s name is Barbatos, who is a duke and earl of hell. Mentioned as the eighth demon, he is able to talk to animals and lead people to treasures hidden by magicians.

Venti from Genshin Impact playing the lyre in the manga. The manga version of Venti shows him in a more revealing white outfit, with glowing teal tattoos and large white wings. Showcased on the Tales of Teyvat Podcast Site.

Back in the Manga, we meet Venti. But he’s not like the Venti we know and love today in a diaper. Instead, he hardly wore anything.

Which is your favorite, OG slutty Venti or diaper baby in-game Venti?

Venti is Joy. Drunk, sing-songy joy.
