SEASON THREE
Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.
Below are some resources surrounding what we discussed about Kaedehara Kazuha that may be helpful to better understand this week’s lore:

In Kazuha’s character teaser we get to see a glimpse into Kazuha’s relationship with Beidou after he joined the Crux, as well as some of the events leading up to why he was running in the first place.

Never interrupt a poet while he writes a haiku. Just ask the baddies that shot an arrow at Kazuha during his character demo.

We talk about the second Vision that Kazuha carries with him prior to completing the Inazuma Archon Quest, Omnipresence Over Mortals. During one of the epic cutscenes we see Tomo’s vision come to life and help Kazuha successfully stop the Musou no Hitotachi.

Grab some tissues and watch the story of Kazuha and Tomo, and how Kazuha came to be in possession of his dead friend’s Vision. Will we ever get anymore Tomo time? Hopefully someday. There’s only so much they can tell us about Kaedehara swords.

Even before you finish the Inazuma Archon Quest, you can visit Tomo’s grave and see his white kitty. After the quest, you’ll notice his inactive Vision has been placed next to the broken sword.
You can find his grave east of the Court of Flowing Sand domain, in a ravine.

Al tells us how some of Kazuha’s voice lines come from the Man’yoshu, the oldest collection of Japanese waka (poetry in classical Japan) from the Nara period, compiled around AD 759.

During a previous Iridori Festival, we help Kazuha find a missing link in his family’s history. It turns out that his great-grandfather put a letter in a bonsai tree planter that explained how the diagram for making the sword for the Raiden Shogun all those years ago was altered by Kunikuzushi, the alias Wanderer once went by.

In Kazuha’s story quest, we learn of a possessed Isshin sword and help free the evil spirit trapped inside it. Kazuha allows the spirit to possess him in the end so he can be guided in mending the broken sword.
Evil, possessed sword… sounds like a good present for the Traveler. You obtain the Kagotsurube Isshin after completing the story.

Tif tells us a story about how a Bake-Danuki played a prank on Kazuha’s travel mate by feeding him, housing him, and then filling him with mud and leaves. You can read the full story in Kazuha’s Character Story 3.

Artist Spotlight

There are so many talented & creative people in the Genshin community, and we’d like to spread some love to a wonderful artist – Valerie Juto (@valerieks)! What can we say, we all have a soft spot for Kazuha and Tomo’s cat. And nothing embodies how sweet this relationship as much as this painting. The soft smiles and almost dreamlike look just adds to the overall beauty of this piece. While Valerie has other work in this style, she also branches into other styles too. Be sure to check out her work!
