Tales of Teyvat, a Genshin Lore Podcast

Episode 59: Wanderer’s Troupe & the Resolution of Sojourner

SEASON THREE

Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.

Below are some resources surrounding what we discussed about Wanderer’s Troupe & the Resolution of Sojourner artifact sets that may be helpful to better understand this week’s lore:

The five pieces of the Wanderer's Troupe artifact set from Genshin Impact. Top left: blue top hat with blue feather. Top right" blue hour glass with gold accents that make it look like a harp. Bottom left" blue bottle with a gold top and gold strings to make it look like the base of a guitar. Bottom right: blue feather with gold accents. Middle: blue bloom flower with gold accent and green leaf.

The Wanderer’s Troupe artifact set tells the tale of a band of musicians that traveled across Teyvat over 1,000 years before the start of the game. Each piece unlocks a little bit more into their adventures and their inevitable end after trying to overthrow the aristocracy in Mondstadt.

The five pieces of the Resolution of Sojourner artifact set from Genshin Impact. Top left: blue feather that goes from a light blue to a dark blue in an ombre effect. Top right: old grey teacup with no handle. There is a blue outline on the base, a blue diamond shaped gem, and a crack. Bottom left: flat looking blue flower with a blue ribbon on its stem. Bottom right: grey sundial with blue detailing. Middle: green wreath adorned with blue flowers and a blue gem shaped like a diamond.

The second artifact set we discuss is the Resolution of Sojourner. This set goes further into the the love the Sojourner had for the maiden doomed by the Ludi Harpastum festival.

The Bell, a weapon from the Wanderer's Troupe Weapon Series. The Bell is a claymore, which is a thicker version of a sword. It has a black handle and the base of the claymore is white. There is black detailing a clock face in the center. The clock is blue and has white hands.

Sharing the same name as the artifact set, the Wanderer’s Troupe Weapon Series tells us more about each of the main figures. The Bell was wielded by Kreuzlied, the once member of the Lawrence Clan. After the group disbanded, the weapon was soaked in acid which made the clock adorned at the top to stop working.

The Flute, a weapon from the Wanderer's Troupe Weapon Series. The Flute is a sword with a white handle tip, and blue base. The decorations make it look like a flute insturment.

The Flute was wielded by the the beautiful Dawnlight Swordswoman (or Sword Dancer). After her demise, The Flute was buried with her and later unearthed. At which time it could no longer sing like it once did.

The Stringless, a weapon from the Wanderer's Troupe Weapon Series. The Stringless is a blue bow with white detailing. It gives an airy feeling.

The Stringless was donned by the harpist himself, Sojourner. After the disbandment of the troupe, all the varied strings were cut and only the one with which the bow could be used remained.

The Widsth, a weapon from the Wanderer's Troupe Weapon Series. The Widsth is a catalyst weapon in Genshin. It looks like a blue book. There are two versions shown. The top version is blue with a white border. The blue has a design in it of a lamp post and a tree. The bottom book has the same shape but has gold decals and shows a blue rainbow with a sun and stars.

The Widsth, full of all the troupe’s music and travel notes, was held by the Conductor. Al brings up an interesting fact that while all weapons have a slight change in appearance when ascended, this catalyst changes its cover between a moon and the sun. A popular story troupe in the world of Teyvat lore.

The golden harp from the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk. The harp is a woman wearing a brown dress with her hands folded under her cheek. She has blonde hair with bangs pulled up in a bun. From her back grows a wing that blends into a harp coming out of the woman's back. The image also shows a traditional harp for comparison and the book "Jack and the Beanstalk"

In case you are not familiar with the fairy tale “Jack and the Beanstalk” like Feens notes, this is the golden harp Tif mentions. Other than Jack having a bunch of beans, he also ends up with a goose that lays golden eggs and a very angry giant.

The Duel on Mustafar, the penultimate battle between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The men stand, showing their bodies from their knees up, and we see them from the side as mostly shadows as they clash their blue lightsabers. Behind them bright orange lava bursts.

A land of fire and lava? Sounds a lot like Mustafar. For reference, this is where the duel between Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan-Kenobi takes place, the last fight before Anakin is reborn as Darth Vader.

The map of Teyvat, an area marked as potentially Mare Jivari, and the Lavawalker flower artifact. The artifact is a red flower with beautiful peddles. In the center is yellow pollen. There are small, circle shaped flowers on the edge as well as a gold adornment.

While talking about another artifact set, the Lavawalker, Feens discusses Mare Jivari and its assumed location. While its not concrete just yet, its said to be near a desert and on the opposite of Teyvat from Mondstadt. South or East of the Sumeru desert seems like the most likely space.

Dawn Winery located in Mondstadt in Genshin Impact.

The Wawn Dinery, I mean, the Dawn Winery was named after the Ragnvindr ancestor that befriended the Dawnlight Swordswoman. He later changed his name to the Dawn Knight as a tribute to her.

The library in Mondsadt started by Diluc's ancestor - the Dawn Knight Ragnvindr. It is dark with brown shelves, railings, and ceiling. It has a white and grey checkered flooring. there is a chandelier hanging in the center of the room.

Additionally, Dawn Knight Ragnvindr is also the reason we have the Mondstadt Library. After the fall of the aristocracy, he turned the once bathhouses into the library.

The Teyvat Field Guide created by Alice and followed by Traveler on their journey in Genshin Impact. There are three guides piled on one another. Each guide is manilla in color, with a red stripe on the right with two stars. It has a simplistic compass in the middle and a title in a foreign language.

Alice is the author of the three Teyvat Travel Guides we’ve been given in game. Is Mr Alice still out there writing the next two guides with her?

Such a creative take on an artifact set! While this illustration has a 1970’s retro feel, her other work is very modern and equally as gorgeous.
