SEASON SEVEN
Our team provides travelers with visual and video aids every episode to help them better understand comparisons, learn more about topics, and follow what we’re discussing. While we strive to include links to official Genshin Impact resources, some may also be to third-party channels.
Below are some resources surrounding this episode about General Gorou that may be helpful to understand the talking points and lore better:

Gorou’s look is dumb. At least according to Tif. And since she (I) wrote this, I’m including my hate to the page as well. While no one shares my sentiment, Vanessa at least agreed that a bare midriff isn’t battle-friendly.

Have you ever noticed that Gorou and Diona have the same eyebrows? Maybe it’s because they’re both part animals. Maybe it’s just one of those coincidences.

RIP Teppei. The death we just can’t get over. Or at least one we refuse to get over. He may not have been our first dead person (the Grand Thief at the Defiled Statue was first), but he was the first acquaintance we had who died on us.

Speaking of death, we mention Signora’s funeral in the Teyvat Chapter Interlude: A Winter Night’s Lazzo. If you haven’t seen it, we highly recommend giving it a watch or 2, or 20. Especially with 7.0 just around the corner. Note: This episode first aired on August 5, 2026, seven days before the release of Version 7.0.

The first time we truly get to see Gorou at his army-best is the battle cutscene between the Sangonomiya Resistance and the Inazuma Bakufu Army led by Kujou Sara. It’s also when Gorou’s boss, Kokomi, decides to join in.

Gorou isn’t the only dog in Inazuma with a job. Taroumaru is the boss of the Komore Teahouse and retired ninja dog from the Shuumatsuban.

The Gorou hangout ending image that shows him running from Yae Miko is definitely one of the best. It’s even made it to Vanessa’s House of Horrors, erm, I mean teapot. Gurl, that’s a lot of tragedy on them walls. We love it.

Gorou’s most redeemable quality (again, according to Tif) is one he’s not even fully aware of. He is The Steambird’s Miss Hina. An advice column Yae Miko has tricked Gorou into writing. He’s really good at it and even has Itto as a huge fan.

Here are some helpful links if you’re unfamiliar with the IRL references we mentioned during the episode. Vanessa tells us about Ornacia – the iconic sentient styrofoam head worn as a headpiece by Vivacious during her entrance on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
