Tales of Teyvat, a Genshin Lore Podcast

Episode 17: Sacred Sakura

SEASON ONE

Every episode our team will work to provide you with visual and video aids to help you better understand comparisons and what we’re talking about.

Below are some resources surrounding what we discussed about the Sacred Sakura that may be helpful to better understand this week’s lore:

A ball of large roots covered in green moss curled in on itself in Inazuma in Genshin Impact. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

The final battle of the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual takes place in the center of Mt. Yougou below the Grand Narukami Shrine. Once you finish this quest, the roots come back to life.

We wonder how well it would do in a lipsync battle on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Raiden Ei, from Genshin Impact, sits kneeling at a picnic blanket while a horned character with long purple hair lays her head in her lap. Another character with fox like ears sits to the side. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

During Raiden Shogun’s character trailer, we see Ei sitting on a picnic blanket with a few friends, including Lady Saiguu. Hanachirusato tells us she is made from the memories of Lady Saiguu, a key figure in keeping Inazuma safe during The Cataclysm.

Raiden Ei, from Genshin Impact, lets a single tear role down her cheek and drip red off of her chin. We are shown a profile picture and her eyes are closed. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

We learn about Makoto during a cutscene in Ei’s second story quest. A brief synopsis of how they were separated and how Ei became the archon. We can also suspect at the end why she locked away herself away and had the puppet Shogun run Inazuma.

They are closely followed by their brother, who is all human and wearing a white kimono with a fur boa on one arm. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

Al talks about the similarities of so’unga, the possessed yokai sword from the 3rd Inuyasha animated movie

Also called the “Sword of Calamity” it can summon souls of the dead and contains the spirit of an ancient evil dragon.

A ghost like large wolf, known as the Golden Wolflord in Genshin Impact, floats in the sky next to a golden rift in the air. This image is showcased on the website for Tales of Teyvat: A Genshin Lore Podcast.

If you’ve been listening to the podcast for some time you know we have some crazy names for characters, places, and bosses. The ‘vagina wolf’ is no exception. We think it’s self-explanatory why the Golden Wolflord got this name. 🤓

There are so many talented & creative people in the Genshin community, and we’d like to spread some love to a wonderful artist – Aneki. Her watercolor-like art gives a warm, soft feel to the characters we’re used to being so strong. It also compliments the dreamy look that we sometimes get in game.

See more work from Aneki on Instagram, Twitter, her website, and consider supporting her at her INPRNT store.
