SEASON SIX
Our team provides travelers with visual and video aids every episode to help them better understand comparisons, learn more about topics, and follow what we’re discussing. While we strive to include links to official Genshin Impact resources, some may also be to third-party channels.
Below are some resources surrounding this episode about Guuji Yae Miko that may be helpful to understand the talking points and lore better:

We get to know Yae Miko through her official intro videos. Her teaser dabbles on her love of light novels, fried tofu, and some of her human connections. While her demo focuses on her role as the editor-in-chief and what she expects from her novelists. And her miscellany gives us a nice wrap-up of her character entirely.

During the Inazuma archon quest, Yae Miko has us do some anti-Raiden training. How many times did you get zapped in this trial? Or did you stick to the outside perimeter like Tif? If you haven’t done this trial yet, here is a helpful video on how to get through it.

Just how much does Miko know? It seems like she might know more than we think. Or perhaps, like Bee said, she can see into the future. At the end of the latest Itto-palooza music event, we hear Miko & Ei talk about an impending battle. Does Miko already know the answer to her question?

Feens discusses the age of the sacred sakura tree and when it was planted. Since the tree looks like a fox in its trunk, could Miko be more involved in that story than we know?

We’re used to hearing many stories about how our characters received their Visions. But no one do we doubt as much as Miko. She could be telling us the truth or just the plot of a new light novel. One thing is for certain: she does see it as a special gift.

Finches are a repetitive symbol surrounding Ei, so it’s fitting that her familiar, Yae Miko, also has a finch in her idle animation. Even more interesting is that we see a finch in a Wanderer’s demo video as well. Guess some bonds are never fully broken.

During Yae Miko’s story quest, we learn about another youkai named Urakusai. Back when Miko was just a little fox kitsune, she would sit on the shoulders of her teacher Kitsune Saiguu and poke holes in Urakusai’s fantastical stories. At the end of her story quest, we’re dazzled with a beautiful cutscene that shows the souls of the youkai guided to peace.

Yae Miko’s day job is running the Yae Publishing House. A hobby she took up years ago when she was bored. You can learn all about this literary mainstay in our season two episode.

It’s no secret that Gorou is a tad bit intimidated by Yae Miko. She’s always trying to fluff his tail and give him compliments. Even during the TCG event, Gorou is seen hiding behind a pillar to avoid Miko’s advances.

Bee and Feens talk about the Honkai equivalent of Yae Miko: Yae Sakura. And they were right, the resemblance is pretty striking.

Here are some helpful links if you’re unfamiliar with the pop culture references we mentioned during the episode. Feens & Tif mimicked some Minions, Tif referenced Sex and the City during Miko’s day out, we revisited the RuPaul Root Ball, Bee mentioned the anime/manga Delicious in Dungeon, and Bee took us down the dark path of Natalia Grace.
