Episode 118: Adventures with Little One

The domain you are ushered into when you first get to Natlan is where we first meet Little One and give him a name. This domain later moves to the bottom of a waterfall, south of Tepeacac Rise, and is known as his Rest Area.

Iridescent Inscriptions, aka the floating metal bookmarks, are seen all over Natlan and help guide the Traveler through puzzles or are used as unlocking mechanisms. They were once used by the ancient dragons, who made them with Phlogiston.

When we enter the Ancient Sacred Mountain and Sacred City of Tollan, looking for a cure for Little One, the sky looks a little funny. That’s because there are literal cracks in it. Much like the hole Mavuika punched into the sky to defeat the Abyss, these cracks look like something (or someone) has traveled through them.

While the mountain area includes Iridescent Inscriptions, it also has cute lil dragon guides called the Secret Source Servants. They activate and deactivate throughout your exploration and help guide you to the heart of the mountain.

Once we enter the Heart of the Sacred Mountain, we have to fight a big baddie that’s constantly freezing Traveler and Paimon in a pyramid. Forgetting that we had fought this guy twice, Tif was super bummed when she saw it took Feens a fraction of the time to bypass it.

Kukulkan is jazzed to meet grown-up Little One. He tells Little One that he is, in fact, the Chosen of Dragons, not Traveler. He also reveals all the forms he shapeshifted into during our quest.

Huitzilopochtli, aka Natlan Phlogistonization Array, aka human nuker (thx Bee!), is the device Kukulkan presents to Little One and asks him to make a choice: shut it down and go back to life as it is, or turn it on and flood Natlan with Phlogiston.

In the end, you’re forced to turn off the mechanism. But who was tempted to just see what happened if you nuked the humans? Luckily for us goody two-shoes who chose correctly the first time, YouTube creator KyoStinV recorded both versions for comparison, including the cute memory montage we talked about.

When you complete all of Little One’s quests, you get to say goodbye to your Saurian buddy. But it’s not all sadness – two server days later, your Saurian egg will hatch! Once you meet Aguara, you can place him in your Serenitea Pot. You can download a list of all the required quests here.
