Episode 89: Naganohara Yoimiya

SEASON FIVE

Every episode our team provides travelers with visual and video aids to help better understand comparisons, learn more about topics, and follow what we’re discussing. While we strive to include links to official Genshin Impact resources, some may also be to third-party channels.

Below are some resources surrounding this episode about Naganohara Yoimiya that may be helpful to understand the talking points and lore better:

Genshin Impact's Yoimiya showcased in a 2D art style used by the game for cut scenes. Yoimiya laughs, with her eyes closed, as she uses chopsticks to place pieces of a firework inside of it.

With her Collected Miscellany and Character Teaser videos, we learn very early why Yoimiya is considered Inazuma’s ‘Queen of Summer’. Fun Feens fact: Yoimiya’s English VA (Jenny Yokobori) was a pyrotechnician before changing career paths and has given some insight into the fireworks queen on social media.

Ryuunosuke and Yoimiya stand in front of a staircase next to the Naganohara Fireworks Shop in Inazuma. Ryuunosuke stands on the left, wears a long grey kimono with red and beige detailings, has grey hair and is a good foot taller then Yoimiya. Yoimiya stands on the right, happy.

Much to Feens’ dismay, Naganohara Ryuunosuke is not an eligible bachelor. The previous proprietor of the Naganohara Fireworks Shop lives with his unnamed, unseen wife and daughter. When Yoimiya was a child, her dad lost some of his hearing in an accident, which made him immune to Yoimiya’s constant chattering.

Three young children standing next to each other. The kid on the left is excited with medium length black hair and wears a blue shirt. The middle child has longer black hair and she looks at the child on the left while wearing a light purple kimono. The child on the right looks over to the child on the left, wears an off white shirt and he has short black hair.

If there is one thing we know for certain, kids LOVE Yoimiya, and she loves them back. She’s often seen with the local kids, and when she goes to a whole new nation, she immediately makes friends with the first kid she sees!

A man wearing a blue matching outfit set with long blue hair stands in front of a beat up row boat at night. Yoimiya, Aether and Paimon all look at him.

We all know there’s a giant storm surrounding Inazuma during the Sakoku Decree. Would you trust the glorified raft that Kouichi made? We know Sakujirou made his way through this storm at least twice, but do you think the odds are in his favor for a third time?

A strong looking man stands behind a table that holds three wooden Aranara carvings. The man has brown hair pulled back into a ponytail and wears a a tight brown shirt and green vest. The wooden table has a rug on top of it for decoration, an Aranara carving in a purple box, one on a blue pillow and one standing alone.

During her visit to Sumeru, Yoimiya falls in love with the Aranara – even before knowing they are real! She buys a bunch of Aranara carvings for the kids back in her village and even gives us a special one before returning home. Since we told her this particular one looked like her, she hopes it makes us smile when we’re apart. BFF goals.

Avin, a young girl sitting in a wooden wheelchair, and her Aranara friend, who has long green leaf ears and a pink flower on top of their head. Avin wears a short off white dress with a purple jacket and sandals. She has brown hair pulled back into two braids.

Avin is the girl Yoimiya befriends when she gets lost in Sumeru City. Avin is a young girl who is sad that she broke a promise with her Aranara friend after being confined to a wheelchair when she got sick. Unlike with Sakujirou, we get a follow-up glimpse of Avin during Nahida’s birthday event where she is reunited again with Arashani.

Two giant star shaped and yellow meteors flying next to one another in the sky. On the farther away star, Youmiya, Aether and Paimon sit and wave at a female child NPC sitting on the other meteor with a green Aranara.

At what point did Yoimiya know the meteor shower they were watching was just a dream? Hopefully before she decided to jump off a giant fungi tree to ride one! And if not, maybe when she did a freefall off the meteor? Watch the full cutscene that ties up Yoimiya’s second story quest.

Yoimiya and Klee, from Genshin Impact, stand next to one another looking at a pile of books on a table. Yoimiya looks surprised and has her arms crossed. Klee looks content.

Yoimiya’s collection of kid friends expanded when Klee accompanied Albedo to the Iridori Festival during the Hues Of The Violet Garden event. Of course, they became instant besties and even created a book together that was published and sold during the festival.

Yoimiya looks at the camera from a profile, the pose shows off her candy hair ornament. The ornament is blue with an orange fish design on it. It hangs off of a blue ribbon attached to her ponytail.

Yoimiya’s ‘sweet pearl’ hair ornament is sometimes more than it appears to be. On one groggy morning, Yoimiya accidentally affixed her treasured candy box to her air instead of her ornament. She even shares a piece of candy with anyone who correctly guesses which bobble she’s wearing that day.

Artist Spotlight

Genshin Impact fan art by MistiousStar of Yoimiya. Yoimiya sits on a tree stump with her eyes closed as she laughts. In one hand she hold a sparkler, in the other she pets a Flareon. A Flareon is a fire type Pokemon that is orange with a fluffy tale and collar. It's a dog type pokemon. It is night time and there are sparkles around the two of them.
