SEASON FOUR
Every episode our team provides travelers with visual and video aids to help better understand comparisons, learn more about topics, and follow what we’re discussing. While we strive to include links to official Genshin Impact resources, some may also be to third-party channels.
Below are some resources surrounding this episode about Rex Lapis, Morax & Zhongli that may be helpful to understand the talking points and lore better:

Our first look into Zhongli came with his character demo video, highlighting his stoic nature and love of contracts.

As the consultant to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Zhongli spares no expense when it comes to the finer things of Liyue. Of course, it’s easy to spend lots of Mora when it isn’t coming out of your own pocket.

His collected miscellany video touches on his vast knowledge of the traditions of Liyue, his stoic nature, and his mysterious past.

Menogias, aka the yellow yaksha according to Feens or gay one as Bee put it, is the designer and tailor of the suit Zhongli proudly wears.

Zhongli tossed down a stuffed animal version of Rex Lapis during the last Rite of Descension to fool everyone into believing their beloved geo archon was dead. Of course, Traveler was blamed for the death even though we had literally just gotten there.

Tif touches on the unlikely friendship of Viktor and Lily. You can start their side story through Mondstadt dailies and follow Viktor as he gets relocated to Sumeru. Hopefully, the Fatui will send him to Natlan so we get more sad Viktor, or maybe he’ll finally send Lily a letter.

Bee tells us that the shape of Guyun Stone Forest isn’t as random as it appears, at least according to Alice. Wonder if it’s a giant middle finger to Celestia? Let’s steal one of Fontaine’s airships and find out!

We recap Zhongli’s first story quest, in which he teaches us the true history of Havria, the God of Salt. Thanks to a fellow traveler, you can rewatch Wanyan and Kliment pretending to be archaeologists. Al saw right through them and their lack of gloves.

When Havria’s people decided to put her out of her misery, they were mummified in Pompei-style salt statues as their thank-you gift. That’ll teach you to kill a god. Also, does anyone want to clean up this pile of salt in aisle three?

Wanyan and Kliment share the artifacts found in Sal Terrae – a neverending bowl of salt and a stick that creates a fountain of salt when stuck in the ground. Formerly known as the salt chalice and salt ruler.

While discussing Zhongli’s interactions at the 2023 Lantern Rite Festival, we mention the cutscene that gave us a look into his life with Guizhong, Cloud Retainer, and Streewtward Rambler. We also mention the rap, but for your sake, we’re not linking it again.

The foursome, together with Marchosius, make up the Guili Assembly. You can learn more about the Guili Assembly in our season two episode.

What’s better than throwing the Jade Chamber at an ancient sea monster? Throwing one at his wife too! Although we think that Osial and Beisht may have been on a break during the first altercation – why else wouldn’t she have come to his aid – they are together again in the Guyun Stone Forest. Along with Ninnguang’s teacups.

Zhongli’s second story quest focuses on his relationship with the big rock beast we all hate to fight, Azhdaha.

Our season three Azhdaha episode explores this story quest in depth. Beware: Scary blue-haired children are afoot.

Thanks to a fellow traveler, you can rewatch the full story quest and all its rocky goodness.

Bee talks about the broken star that may have formed both the Chasm and the Dunyu Ruins. You can hear more about the Chasm in our season two episode, along with other theories on how it was formed.

Here are some helpful links if you’re unfamiliar with the pop culture references mentioned during the episode.
Bee mentions The Odd Couple when comparing Zhongli and Venti’s relationship. The Odd Couple is a story about two very opposite men and was a hit TV show in the 1970s. It was based on Neil Simon’s play of the same name.
