Episode 77: ‘Labyrinth Warriors’ Event

SEASON FOUR

Every episode our team provides travelers with visual and video aids to help better understand comparisons, learn more about topics, and follow what we’re discussing. While we strive to include links to official Genshin Impact resources, some may also be to third-party channels.

Below are some resources surrounding this episode about the ‘Labyrinth Warriors’ event that may be helpful to better understand the talking points and lore:

If you were like most of us, you didn’t get to play the Labyrinth Warriors event when it was released in version 2.2. Luckily for us, you can find a lot of playthroughs from other Travelers on YouTube.

An aerial view of a cliffside in Inazuma. The grass is light green and has an abandoned tower that is broken down and made of stone. A tree with purple leaves grows from it. There are multiple purple trees in this area.

The Mystic Onmyou Chamber domain is no longer accessible, but there is still plenty to see in the Araumi area on Narukami Island. As Feens mentions, this is also the area where you first unlock the puzzles that lead to the Perpetual Mechanical Array.

Shiki, from Genshin Impact, is a paper puppet with samurai detailings. He has a white middle section with a red belt, purple arms with golden triangles for hands, gold shoes and purple pants, and a purple helmet with a large gold emblem in the shape of a U on top. He has two eyes that look like painted "J"s.

The overseer of the domain, and our flat companion for the event, Shiki Taishou is a shikigami paper doll with magical abilities. Dealing with some sleep amnesia, Shiki slowly remembers his past and what has occurred recently when he fuses with replicas of himself.

On the left is the original flat Stanley, with gelled down orange hair, freckles, a plush, orange long sleeved shirt, and jeans. On the right is the new flat Stanley with cool spiked hair, an orange t-shirt with a white longsleeved shirt underneath it, jeans and a soccer ball. Faded behind them is fake Stanley from Genshin Impact, that has long brown hair, a mustache and a beard and wears a green adventurer's guild outfit.

Flat Stanley, not to be confused with Mondstadt Stanley, is a children’s activity book where you draw on a paper doll and make a friend. Which essentially is what Kamuna Harunosuke did with Shiki Taishou. But with magic and monsters. As Al mentioned, Flat Stanely recently had a glow up in the newer versions.

An Inazuma NPC wearing the traditional warrior outfits of Inazuma in Genshin Impact. He wears a pyramid shaped hat with a circular bottom that has an electro sybol on it. He has dark straight hair that almost hits his eyebrows. He wears a purple chest plate and purple robe.

Yata Kouki is the NPC with the velvet voice that Feens pines over when we make our way to see Kujou Sara. Take a listen for yourself and let us know if you agree or who else you think has a sexy voice in the game.

The many faces of the paper ninja puppet from the Event. The top left shows him with eyes shaped like "J"s looking concerned, top right has eyes closed looking bashful, bottom left shows him angry with his eyes closed in side way "v"s and the bottom right shows him with "T" shaped eyes that have lines on the side making him look sad.

Shiki Taishou has many expressions for a paper doll. While Tif laughed at them, Al told us that the symbols were Japanese characters.

Aether, from Genshin Impact, makes a surprised look with his face, eyes wide open and his mouth open showcasing his teeth. Imposed on top of him is Lumine, making the same face but also holder her hands in front of her.

Xinyan’s test of Shiki Taishou’s character required her to rock out so we could feel the music. While everyone says just how amazing her performance was, the look on Traveler’s face tells a completely different story. Or maybe we were also disappointed not to find out the color of someone’s soul.

Childe, from Genshin Impact, stands in a warm lit room with wooden walls and floors. He holds one hand to his chest over his heart.

Mr Worldwide is one of the main characters in this event and we talked quite a bit about him. But if you’re interested in learning more, check out our Childe-specific episode from season one.

A door with many fabric slots showing the shadows of a man and a floating paper puppet and a tree. It is shown in sephia tones with wood floors.

Once Shiki merges with all the replicas and restores all his memories, we see a cutscene showing us the end of his time with Kamuna Harunosuke. He learns that he’s not evil, which is nice, and that he fulfilled his promise with his master.

Xinyan from Genshin Impact jamming in the center of Inazuma City under a full moon. She has her guitar out and is getting ready to strum the guitar hard with Shiki, the paper ninja puppet, flying beside her.

At the end of the event, we’re given our very own non-magical shikigami. This cute little gadget gets to explore the rest of Teyvat with us.

Genshin Impact's Paimon and a movie kamera. In front of her on the table is a blank postcard and a brown Kamera her hands. Her eyes are closed and she is laughing. In front of her on the table is a blank postcard and a brown Kamera.

A collage of pop culture references from the episode. It shows Marty McFly playing a red guitar from Back to the Future, Joan Jett with straight shoulder length black hair and bangs, Sandy Cheeks - a squirrel wearing a space suit with a pink flower on the outside of the helmet, a small baby figurine inside a cake and the cover to the book Cujo by Stephen King where we see a dogs moth snarling through a hole.

We also chatted about Mardi Gras king cake, Stephen King’s Cujo, Marty McFly’s performance in Back to the Future, Sandy Cheeks from Spongebob Squarepants, and the ultimate rock queen, Joan Jett.

Kirara from Genshin Impact standing next to a wooden mailbox and a squirrel. There are two letters imposed next to her and she stands on a stone patio with grass and a pink sky behind her.
